The Léopold Bellan Foundation is a major player in the health, social and medical sectors. This non-profit institution has a vast experience in the management of insitutions for the care of vulnerable groups. The Foundation manages 67 medical and social establishments throughout the greater Paris , the Hauts de France  and the Centre Val-de-Loire areas. Created in 2012, Foncière Solidaire Léopold Bellan is the vehicle through which the Foundation acquires and renovates establishments. The Foncière's activities supports the Foundation's mission which is to welcome and accommodate elderly or disabled people who lack access to the solutions proposed by the sector's private for-profit institutions.

The first project developed by the Foncière Solidaire is a fully qualified for social assistance nursing home and a social residence for the elderly also called Résidence Services Seniors (RSS). Located in the municipality of Tours on the site of La Grande Bretèche, it will integrate the mother house of the Congregation of Dominican Sisters. Wishing to entrust the management and funding to a third party, the Congregation launched a double call for proposals. Declared the winners of these two consultations, Foncière Solidaire Léopold Bellan became the investor in the operation and the Fondation Léopold Bellan the manager of the establishments.
