Created in January 2018, Atelier Unes is a sustainable and collaborative ready-to-wear brand for women. After seeing the tons of unsold items burnt and the growing pills after the first washing, Violette and Matthieu decided to take action by reinventing an economic model that breaks with traditional fashion industry. Their ambition is to create a sustainable and elegant wardrobe with a positive impact through collaboration. Instead of manufacturing at a loss without knowing if the clothing will be popular, they start from the opinions of their community before creating. Concretely, every month, Atelier Unes launches a pre-ordered piece, produced in Europe, co-constructed with its community in natural or recycled materials. This slow-fashion economic model allows the company to offer an eco-friendly solution based on need to limit its negative externalities. To date, more than 30,000 people have taken part in their surveys! After their launch on a crowdfunding platform in June 2018, they started selling on the site in March 2019 with +90K€ of turnover over the year. In 2020, Atelier Unes has already exceeded this turnover in less than 5 months. They are also among the first ones in the field to have obtained the ESUS approval which certifies their commitment.

Graduated as a fashion designer at Mode Estah, Violette has developed her skills throughout the manufacturing chain. She first joined a clothing manufacturing workshop for luxury ready-to-wear brands (Balenciaga, Hermès, Chloé, etc.) and then worked for 3 years as a product manager for a Parisian clothing brand. Passionate about her job, she realizes the impact of the fashion industry on people and the environment and wants to act at her level. As a graduate of the INP PHELMA engineering school and of the Grenoble Business School, Matthieu has more than 3 years of experience in successful tech startups. First as co-CTO of MonDocteur, he participated in the development of a startup that grew from 8 employees to 250 in 2 years. Just before its acquisition by Doctolib, he decides to change company to take the position of CMO & Growth Hacker for 1 year within Bluecoders.io (a startup specialized in the recruitment of high level tech profiles). Through his experiences, he developed an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep expertise in the digital world. Matthieu is in charge of marketing, customer experience and finance while Violette is in charge of art direction, product design and production management.

Leur modèle économique est intelligent, avec des piliers forts : une fabrication locale, un sourcing de matières naturelles et recyclées labellisées et une co-création des collections par des associations engagées en RSE.
